On Sunday, October 1 at 4:00 a.m., the PC Technologies group implemented a security patch on the servers in the Mirkwood domain. The process required a maximum of about 30 minutes and was completed by 4:30 a.m. The patch applied addresses the vulnerability in Vector Markup Language (VML) that could potentially allow remote code execution. The Mirkwood servers were rebooted after the patch was implemented.
