On Sunday, August 13, starting at 9:00 a.m., the PC Technologies group performed maintenance on the MSS Cisco-Pix firewall for a number of applications. The process required about 2 hours and was completed 11:00 a.m. The maintenance was required to reconfigure the DHCP addresses behind the MSS Cisco-Pix to use an address range that is not registered in NIM. This allowed the NIM-registered addresses to be used for actual web sites, machine names, etc.

Following the completion of the maintenance, authentication and access to resources supported by the MSS Cisco-Pix contined to function as it previously had with minimal customer changes required. On Monday, August 14, the PC Technologies support staff will contact the customers (affected by the change) to assist them in making the required changes.
