Modification to the WYLBUR job submission exit - 9:00 a.m. on Oct. 4

On Sunday, October 4 at 9:00 a.m., the Systems Group is scheduled to make a change to the Wylbur job submission exit so that the user's password will be included in the JOB card (instead of being on a separate ACF2 //*PASSWORD card). Update - October 6
On Tuesday, October 6, EIS-QA-PCM was contacted concerning JCL errors that had been received on a number of FAMIS jobs that had been submitted during the evening of October 5. The errors indicated that a password was not supplied when the jobs were submitted. Further investigation determined that the condition was associated with the modification to the WYLBUR job submission exit that had been implemented on October 4.

The exit modification inserted a PASSWORD= parameter in the jobcard for RACF compatibility. To prevent a JCL error, the modification placed a comma after the last character on the jobcard line to allow the password parameter to be continued on the next line. However, because the FAMIS jobs that experienced the JCL errors were using 71 columns for jobcard information, the addition of the comma on column 72 caused the continuation parameter to be ignored. This is because no data can be included in any column after number 71 for MVS JCL.

WYLBUR was restarted at 1:30 p.m. to restore the previous WYLBUR job submission exit.
